A travelling television format does not always require a complete new physical production base in each market. Stacks of Cash places a shared Portuguese hub behind its first international versions.

Fremantle’s 8 October 2026 announcement confirms commissions from CBS in the United States and Seven in Australia following the format’s Portuguese version. The Eureka-created game show combines quiz questions with a large physical stacking challenge. Fremantle says all three territories filmed at a dedicated production hub in Portugal. Its efficiency claims are the company’s description, not an independently verified cost comparison.

Separate shared infrastructure from local requirements

A producer evaluating a hub model should identify which parts of the production can be shared and which must change for the receiving broadcaster. A common set does not eliminate the need for a version-specific plan.

A hypothetical adaptation may use the same physical environment while requiring different on-screen material or production decisions. The teams should document those differences before the schedule is agreed.

Plan the transitions between versions

The commercial case depends on a workable calendar. The producer needs to understand when each version uses the facility and what work takes place between productions.

A representative schedule should include the handoffs rather than only the recording days. That gives the team a better basis for discussing the complete resource requirement and the implications of a change.

Compare the whole production proposition

A hub proposal should be assessed using the actual requirements of the intended version. The buyer needs enough detail to compare the model with a credible alternative, including the work that remains outside the shared facility.

Stacks of Cash offers a concrete example of a format sold with an international production approach. For commissioners, the useful question is how the shared structure supports their version while preserving the practical requirements that make it suitable for their audience.
