A regional unscripted package can bring different programme types into one commercial relationship. ITV Studios’ Latin American agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery gives a concrete example of catalogue selling organised around a buyer’s channel needs.

The 7 May 2026 announcement describes more than 60 hours for Discovery and Discovery Home & Health in Latin America. Named programmes include Worlds Apart, Ashley Cain into the Danger Zone, My Mom, Your Dad USA and River Monsters, alongside lifestyle series. The release discloses the package’s broad content and destination, not its full pricing or contractual terms.

Understand the buyer’s programming problem

A distributor preparing a package should explain why the proposed titles belong together for the receiving service. Genre variety can be useful, but the commercial case still needs a clear relationship to the buyer’s audience and scheduling plan.

A hypothetical factual distributor might organise its presentation around complementary programme needs rather than offer a list sorted only by production date. That approach gives the buyer a more concrete basis for deciding which titles deserve closer review.

Keep title-level requirements visible

A package agreement does not eliminate the individual work attached to each programme. Delivery teams still need an accurate record of the materials and versions the buyer expects to receive.

The sales handoff should identify who maintains that record and who resolves discrepancies. A title that looks straightforward in a catalogue can create avoidable work if the commercial and delivery teams describe its available materials differently.

Separate volume from commercial value

The number of hours helps describe the scale of the announced deal. It does not reveal the value per hour, the margin or the performance of the programmes after transmission.

For international sales businesses, the ITV-WBD announcement is useful evidence of an active regional package relationship. The practical lesson is to connect the slate to a buyer’s stated needs while preserving the title-level detail required to deliver what has been sold.
