A creator programme may be discovered on a phone and watched on a television. That change of screen can alter the practical demands on the edit, even when the underlying distribution platform is the same.
Ofcom’s Media Nations 2026 report records average in-home YouTube viewing on television sets rising from nine minutes per day in 2022 to 19 minutes in 2025. This is a UK device-specific average, not a global viewing figure or proof that every creator’s audience has made the same shift.
Review the programme in its viewing context
A creator team can watch a representative episode on a television and record where the experience becomes difficult. Text, graphics, transitions and sound should be assessed in the context in which the audience encounters them.
A hypothetical interview programme might discover that information designed for close viewing on a phone is harder to follow from a sofa. The team should test the actual asset before deciding which changes are useful.
Use channel evidence alongside the market report
The national trend gives the business a reason to investigate. The creator’s own available device and audience information should guide the project-level decision.
A useful review distinguishes what the team knows from its channel data, what it has observed in a test and what remains an assumption. That makes it easier to explain why a production adjustment deserves time or budget.
Include sponsor materials in the check
A branded segment is part of the same programme experience. The team should review supplied graphics and any intended interaction in the context in which they will appear.
The commercial opportunity is not simply to call a creator programme “television.” It is to understand how audiences use different screens and make the work usable there. Ofcom’s evidence offers a concrete prompt for that production review without replacing the creator’s own audience research.
